QUANTA · QuantaCore Labs
Privacy Policy
Effective 2026-10-19 · Applies to the Quanta web app, the Quanta iPhone app and the Quanta Android app.
The short version: Quanta is built so your data stays yours. Your memory lives on your device, not our servers. On the free plan, what you dictate is turned into text on Quanta’s servers, transiently, in the web app and the phone apps alike; on a paid plan, Quanta speaks and listens on QuantaCore Labs’ own servers, transiently. We run no advertising, no tracking SDKs, and we never sell data — to anyone, ever.
What stays on your device
- Sovereign Memory — the things Quanta remembers about you across sessions — is stored only in your browser or app, on your device. It is never uploaded. You can export it (optionally encrypted with a passphrase only you hold) and delete it at any time from the Memory panel.
- Conversations are kept locally on your device. If you sign in, they are also synced to your account so your other devices can show them, and deleting your account deletes them there.
- Quanta Super Speed writes its replies on your own hardware: your messages are not sent to a model on our servers. Three things can still leave your device. When a question needs current information from the web, the question is sent to Quanta's server and our search provider to look it up, as it is for every Quanta model. In a Focus, the question is sent to Quanta's server to find the passages of your files that answer it. And if you are signed in, the conversation is synced to your account like any other.
- Voice input on the free plan: what you dictate in the web app, the iPhone app and the Android app is sent to Quanta's servers to be turned into text while you speak. It is processed transiently and not kept, and we do not use it to train models. Only when that is unavailable does dictation fall back to your own device's recogniser: in the web app on your own device where your hardware supports it, or through the browser's built-in recogniser (Chrome and Edge send that audio to Google); in the phone apps, your phone's own speech recognition.
- Corrections: when we learn that an answer Quanta gave was wrong, we add it to a public list of corrections. Your app downloads that list and checks your conversations against it on your own device, so it can tell you. Nothing about your conversations, or about which answers were corrected, is sent to us.
- Outcomes: where your conversations got somewhere is worked out on your own device from your own messages. A date you set to check back on a conversation is kept with that conversation, like a pin.
- How sure: when Quanta reads search results for an answer, the lines it read are kept with that answer in your conversation, so the app can show which claims match them. They are checked on your own device and travel only where the conversation already goes.
What reaches our servers, and why
- Prompts you send to cloud models are transmitted to generate the reply and are processed transiently. We do not use your conversations to train models.
- Web-grounded answers send your query to our search provider to fetch results.
- Answers you ask Quanta to keep checking send the sentences of that answer that came from web sources, with those sources’ addresses, to our server, which reads those pages again and tells you whether they still say the same. The sites see a request from QuantaCore Labs, never from you. Nothing is stored on our server; the result is kept with the answer in your conversation.
- Quanta Voice (paid plans): replies read aloud are generated on QuantaCore Labs’ own voice servers, and in the web app what you say in Live Voice or dictation is sent to the same servers to be transcribed. Text and audio are processed transiently to produce the speech or the transcript. We do not use them to train models.
- Account data, if you create an account: your email address and name, your password (stored only as a one-way hash), your session, your plan, and your synced conversations. If you choose them: a profile picture, the links you share to a conversation, and the pictures and clips you make, kept in your library with the prompt that made them.
- Optional details you choose to give us: what Quanta should call you, what you use it for, how you like answers, and whether you are under 18. We use them only to shape Quanta’s answers for you; they are never sold or used for ads, and you can change or delete them in Settings.
- Reports. If you report a reply, we keep the reply, the message that produced it and your note, so the problem can be fixed for everyone. Only if you tick "Include the conversation this came from" do we also keep the earlier messages of that chat: up to 12, your typed words only, never attached files.
Payments
We never see or store a card number. Who bills you depends on where you bought the plan:
- On the web, by Stripe. Card details go directly to Stripe. Cancel at iamquanta.ca/account → Manage billing.
- In the iPhone app, by Apple, through the App Store. Apple bills and renews the plan, and cancellations and refunds go through Apple: on your iPhone, Settings → Apple Account → Subscriptions. We receive only Apple's signed record of the purchase: which plan, its period, and Apple's transaction numbers.
- In the Android app, by Google, through Google Play. Google bills and renews the plan, and cancellations and refunds go through Google: in the Play Store, Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions. We receive only Google's record of the purchase.
Each of them keeps its own payment records under its own privacy policy.
What we don't do
- No advertising, and no advertising SDKs.
- No sale or sharing of personal data with data brokers.
- No fingerprinting or cross-site tracking.
Permissions (iPhone app)
The iPhone app asks for each of these only the first time you use the feature that needs it, and you can turn any of them off in the iPhone's Settings.
- Microphone: only while you dictate a message or talk with Quanta in Live Voice. What you say is sent to Quanta's servers to be turned into text, processed transiently, and not kept.
- Speech recognition: used only if Quanta's own hearing is unavailable while you dictate. Your phone's built-in speech recognition then writes out what you say. On phones that support it this happens on the device; otherwise your phone's recognition service handles it under your phone's own privacy terms. Nothing of it is sent to us except the finished text you send.
- Adding to Photos: when you tap Save to Device in a studio, Quanta adds that picture or clip to your Photos. It can only add; it cannot see your photo library.
It also uses the network to reach the Quanta platform. It has no advertising identifier and does no tracking.
Permissions (Android app)
The Android app requests the microphone only for the voice features (dictation and Live Voice), used at the moment you invoke them. It requests network access to reach the Quanta platform. Nothing else.
Quanta Tether (your phone and your computer)
If you switch on Quanta Tether to reach your computer from your phone, each device makes its own key. The private half never leaves the device (on an iPhone it is held in the phone's secure hardware). We store, with your account: each linked device's public key, its device name (the name your phone or computer calls itself), its platform and app version, when it was linked and last seen, and which phone your computer has allowed to reach it. Messages between your devices pass through our servers and are deleted once they are delivered; one that is never delivered is dropped after 24 hours.
We keep this only so that your own devices, and only the ones you allowed at the computer, can reach each other. Switching Tether off or signing out on a device deletes its key from that device, so it can no longer connect. Its record then stays on your account, unusable, until you delete your account; write to us if you want it erased sooner.
Deleting your data
Local data (memory, conversations) can be cleared from within the app at any time, and is removed if you uninstall the app or clear the site's data in your browser.
You can delete your account at any time: in the iPhone or Android app under Settings → Delete account, or on the web at iamquanta.ca/delete-account. Deletion erases, at once and for good, your account and everything stored with it: your email address and profile, synced and shared conversations, your library's pictures and clips and their prompts, your profile picture, your Quanta Tether devices and their messages, replies you reported, and your usage records. A plan bought on the web is cancelled.
Deleting your Quanta account does not cancel a subscription bought in the iPhone or Android app. Apple or Google bills it and only you can cancel it there (see Payments above). Cancel it before or after you delete your account, or it will keep renewing.
What we keep afterwards identifies nobody: a log of payment event numbers and refunded purchase numbers, so that one payment is never applied twice and a refunded purchase never unlocks a plan again. It holds no email address and no link to any account. The payment records the law requires are kept by Stripe, Apple or Google, whichever took the payment.
Children
Quanta is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted at this address with a new effective date. The direction it changes in is fixed by how the product is built: toward your data staying yours.
